From our young age only, we are taught to get good grades and marks. We are told that if we get excellent results if we want to have a successful career. But are we ever told or taught the importance of Skills in our career?
Extra-Curricular activities or Skill development sessions are considered to be a waste of time by most of the people in India because a mentality has been developed by them that only good grades can get a person job which is absolutely wrong. Skills play an equally crucial role in a person’s career as their grades do. May it be communication skills or writing skills or Designing skills or any other, a person can definitely get a much more successful career based upon these skills.
According to the recent data, the youth employability stood at 45.9 % consisting of highly employable resources. It is observed that it is lower than the last year. The emergence of skill gap is a reason that youth employability reduced comparatively from the last year. It is important for the students to learn at least the basic skills such as Computer applications and Communication skills because both of these play a really vital role in career building.
The government can definitely introduce various Skill development sessions for the students of schools and colleges and also spread awareness for the same so that the students and their parents can know the role that skills play in the life of a person.
